Ecommerce is a new world of sales. Are you in it?
Three, two, one, blast off. We have a launch. www.gitomer.com is up and running in a newer, bigger way. Our third website in four years, and just in time for the turn of the century. The launching of our little piece in the new world of sales. The world wide web.
The web world, for those of you living under a rock, is a place where you bank, learn, access information, auction, bid, trade, shop, and have fun. All in the blink of an eye. Oh, and we can buy stuff. And we are buying BIG.
Where is your website? If it’s where mine was last week that’s not too good. The web is an evolving marketplace, and I have made the commitment (and investment) to evolve with it. Have you?
Will it work? Will it get a great ROI or should I say ROW? At the moment, that’s not my concern. LEARNING how to do business on the web is my biggest concern. Web sales estimates are all over the lot but there is a one word consensus that no one can deny “up.”
Banks, stock brokerages, insurance companies, car dealers, direct mailers, and tons of others businesses are relooking and reinventing the way they offer their products for market (and many of their salespeople are shaking in their boots). Many companies are going direct, and middle men by the roves are looking for (or will be looking for) new sales jobs. Meanwhile, webworkers and site builders cannot keep up with the demand for more, faster, cooler.
And of course an entire new language has been born. “e” now precedes everything, and I dare you to find a billboard, magazine, or TV ad that doesn’t have a .com on it someplace.
And there are savings involved. Less people too employ. And there are profits involved. Less expenses in handling. And there are more profits involved. One less distribution hand to pass through. And it has no openclosed hours. It’s ALWAYS open. And, and, and. Faster service, autoresponder to confirm and thank, and it?s fun.
Sounds like an etakeover. Well, not quite, but man is it growing faster than anyone ever expected, predicted, or dreamed. And I for one am going to be in the passing lane not the gettingpassedby lane. You?
So let’s get to the elesson of the day: New method of information delivery. For seven years I have offered a “freebyfax” at the end of every article. We called it a “faxback,” and thousands of people have asked for it. So many so, that we now have three fax machines, and a full time faxerbacker.
Today, with the launch of our new site, that is changing, and so is the name. It will now be “freebye” and will be referred to as a Free GitBit. Something of extra value about the subject addressed in each article, free to you.
The first GitBit will of course be web related. It’s a list of questions to ask yourself about the web and your future. Hard, thought provoking questions. If you want yours, go to the site www.gitomer.com, click on freestuff, then click on GitBit, register your name, enter the words “Web Questions,” and you got it.
Every week there’s going to be another one. When you return next week, just enter your email address and password, and you got it again. But wait, there’s much, much, more. We’ll offer to send it to you by email, view it and print it on the spot, or fax it to you. Pretty cool huh?
And please take a note here. We expect a bunch of people wanting to try it out and register. Will there be delays? Glitches? Bugs? Crashes? Of course there will be. It?s new technology, Bubba. If you experience ANY difficulty, email us or call us. And before you get all bent out of shape that you didn’t get yours in an esecond, remember these two words: “IT’S FREE!” So relax and try again.
OK, we’re ready to rumble. Please help us launch this technological information exchange. And please let me know how you like it.
With our new website I can promise you three things.
- We will be learning how to interact with customers better and report our findings to you, so that you can take a few shortcuts.
- We will be dedicated to enhancing the technology the second it becomes available. And so should you.
- We will enter this marketplace with the same philosophy that brought us this far: Give value first, help others, establish long term relationships with everyone, and have fun.
Oh, and our team is standing by to serve, in case you need to talk to a real person. You see, the web does not, or will not, eliminate the need for human interaction. No, no. The web will challenge everyone who sells on it to be as responsive and as fast OFF the web as they are ON the web.
